How Technology Is Transforming Mental Health Treatment

The technological advances that have improved the delivery of healthcare services for physical illnesses have also unlocked new possibilities for mental health treatment.

Web and mobile-based technologies offer patients a way to track their symptoms and reach out for support while providing clinicians with more avenues for intervention.

In this highly stressful time, technology can help fill the gap when doctor’s visits aren’t possible, complement traditional therapy methods, and serve as a useful introduction to individuals that are reluctant to seek treatment. Here are some of the ways technology is transforming mental health treatment.

Telehealth or telemedicine allows an individual to consult with his/her doctor through phone or video call. The technology is proving to be especially relevant in this pandemic when shelter-at-home orders keep us from physically visiting the doctor.

Online counseling expands access by offering a solution to residents in remote areas and people that might be uncomfortable during one-on-one sessions. It can also reduce the stigma associated with seeking help for mental health conditions.

To complement telemedicine, you can instantly connect with a trained counselor through 24/7 crisis centers.

Internet-Based Support Groups

Various social media groups and online forums offer a safe, non-judgmental space for people to share their struggles. Under the cloak of anonymity, individuals can freely air their thoughts and engage with other participants for re-affirmation.

They can also access a list of educational materials to guide them in processing their negative emotions.

Virtual Reality Technology

This relatively new technology offers a way to treat patients who have post-traumatic stress disorder. This treatment involves repeatedly exposing the patient to the traumatic event in a controlled environment until the event no longer triggers stress and anxiety.

VR technology is useful in treating military veterans who have PTSD. Still, there’s considerable potential to use this technology to complement the treatments of people with phobias, depression, and anxiety.

Mobile Apps

Mental health apps appear to be the new frontier of mobile healthcare, with various apps attempting to address a wide range of psychological concerns.

Convenience, anonymity, improved coverage, reduced cost, and consistency are some of the benefits of mental health apps. Some of the popular categories include:

  • Self-Management

These apps help users manage their mental health daily, either by setting medication reminders or completing activities designed to relieve stress or anxiety.

Some self-management apps work in tandem with wearable equipment to collect physiological information like your heart rate or blood pressure, giving your medical provider a better understanding of your progress or alerting them for any warning signs.

  • Skills Training Apps

Through a different learning experience or delivering therapies using interactive formats, users can gain and enhance healthy coping skills.

For example, there’s an app designed for anxiety that requires you to create a list of the activities that bring you the most worry and guides you through a step-by-step process to conquer these fears using cognitive-based therapy strategies.

  • Illness Management

These kinds of apps usually embed some form of self-management, but go further to connect you to a peer counselor or healthcare provider for further assistance.

Look for mental health apps that offer professional service as well. This type of therapy has earned a growing interest because of its convenience and accessibility. What used to be only available in the hospital and therapy centers is now easily accessed from the comfort of your home with the internet and your internet-capable gadget.

Since these apps deal with highly personal and sensitive information, make sure to carefully evaluate the apps to know which are trustworthy. Although data can enhance an algorithm’s predictive power, it tends to operate in gray areas that straddle the lines between surveillance and privacy.

Go the extra mile and look up information about the app developer. What are their credentials? How about the terms and conditions? Read the fine print. If you can’t find any information about the app or the developer, search for the treatment upon which the app is based.

To make an informed choice about which mental app is right for you, seek your healthcare provider’s advice. Since they have your medical records, they are in the best place to evaluate which apps can support your ongoing therapies. Ask what apps would they recommend – a passive symptom tracker or one that has more of a human touch?

Final Thoughts

Even before the pandemic, the US was already grappling with a growing mental health crisis. Preliminary studies suggest that the situation will only worsen as depression and anxiety symptoms appear to have notably increased for the general population.

If lessons from the previous Ebola and SARS epidemics are any guide, the psychological toll will last long after the outbreak has ended, straining a healthcare system that’s already showing signs of stress.

Faced with these daunting tasks, there is a need to scale up technology-based tools and solutions to reach vulnerable and underserved segments of the population.

Although apps and internet support groups cannot replace a licensed professional, they can provide much-needed support at this crucial time when we need to create and maintain meaningful connections, build healthy coping habits, and manage stressful experiences while keeping apart.

Now more than ever, it is imperative to make full use of the digital tools at our disposal to support each other during and after this crisis.

How Family Doctors Are Supporting COVID-19 Response Efforts

As the pandemic rages on, family doctors play an important role in keeping our healthcare system from collapsing. While the bulk of hospital capacity and workforce has shifted to respond to COVID-19, family physicians are lending critical support to the global fight. They are working just as tirelessly by responding to general medical concerns of communities or referring COVID-19 cases for specialized care.

According to the American College of Physicians (ACP), due to the broader education they receive compared to internal medicine specialists, family doctors can handle a wide range of medical issues. The typical patient mix of a family doctor is around 10-15% of children and 85-90% adults. As generalists, their extensive range makes them extremely valuable in communities that may not have nearby specialists.

An essential component in the healthcare system, the family medicine specialty, was borne out of the general practitioner movement in the late 1960s that sought to address the growing specialization of the medical field. The practice primarily responds to the medical needs of the family unit as opposed to a specific segment of the population based on markers or health needs like age, sex, organ system, or the nature of the required intervention.

Supporting The Frontlines

This critical role is in sharp relief amid the ongoing pandemic. Even as COVID patients account for a growing number of in-patient cases, general medical conditions and injuriesflu, cold, and high blood pressure, to name a fewdo not just magically go away. This is the domain of family doctors who are helping pick up the slack, allowing limited resources and workforce to go where they are most needed and augment efforts against the COVID-19.

An article published in the European Journal of General Practice in April 2020 tried to map out how family doctors are coping with the unique challenges of the pandemic. The authors attempted to unpack the various anxieties faced by family physicians as they try to carry out their job without the tools of physical examination and observation.

When face-to-face consultations are limited, how can family doctors make accurate decisions? When COVID-19 shares symptoms with the common flu or cold, how can they make sure that it’s just flu and not something worse? These are some of the concerns raised by the authors in the journal article.

In The Line Of Fire

In addition to intense pressure, family doctors also face the ultimate risk. A July 2020 study by the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania revealed alarming findings suggesting that those working in primary care may have faced the highest risk of dying compared to in-patient hospital workers at the frontlines. Family physicians seemed to have felt the impact of the virus more than hospital-based physicians.

Of the reported global deaths among healthcare workers as of May 13, the study observed that more than half were physicians. Among the physician fatalities, the most significant subset at 26.9% were general practitioners, family medicine, or primary care doctors that succumbed to the disease compared to 7.4% of deaths from those in closer proximity to the COVID-19 health response like emergency medical workers, critical care specialists, and anesthesiologists.

The study argues that part of the reason why fatalities were higher for the former than the latter was that the former was likely to be ill-equipped at that time compared to workers at the frontlines who may have had better access to personal protective equipment (PPE). Recall that during the first few months of the pandemic, healthcare workers grappled with widespread shortages of face masks, shields, and gloves as supply chains buckled under intense demand.

Due to their embedded role in the community, the study added that family physicians, general practitioners, and primary care doctors, might have been more likely to see patients with early-stage, mild, or asymptomatic COVID without PPEs at a time when the virus was not fully understood. Some have already paid the price and died in the line of duty.

The New Normal

Despite the emotional toll of the pandemic on healthcare workers, researchers say that family physicians are adapting quickly in the new normal and still keeping their practice open. There are instances when physicians separate patient streams of potential COVID patients from non-COVID cases, while strictly enforcing physical distancing in waiting rooms, and embracing telehealth services.

It is also observable how hospitals promptly place triage centers so that the general population still gets the care they need in the middle of the pandemic. Additionally, new guidelines were developed at record time to guide family medicine practitioners in areas of protective measures, video call systems, referrals to ICU, care guidance, and other decisions they have to carry out in the line of work.

As we can see, our family doctors are an essential part of keeping the virus at bay, but the responsibility is not solely their own. Let us all do our part by washing our hands frequently, avoiding non-essential travel, and wearing a mask when going out so we can give our health workers the recognition they deserve once this is all over.

What A Vaccine Against Coronavirus Can Do For All

The coronavirus outbreak has affected the entire world in more ways than one. Some people assume that it has only been awful in countries with high COVID-19 cases in the last few months, but it is practically the same everywhere. That is especially true when they have closed their borders, and the exporters and importers in other countries cannot operate due to it.

Despite that, we know that one thing can save us all: a vaccine. Research experts have been proposing and trying different kinds of drugs, hoping that it can immunize everyone, but nothing is written in stone yet. It will be incredible if an effective vaccine comes soon since it will:

Free Everyone From Their Houses

The first issue with not having a vaccine available is that many people cannot leave the house in fear of catching the coronavirus. After all, a significant number of individuals are technically immune-compromised due to their existing conditions like diabetes, cancer, and autoimmune disorders. Others—expectant mothers, children, and senior citizens—cannot go out because their immunity is not optimal. The result is that they have been stuck at home for months; even when the country opens the borders, it remains inadvisable for them to live normally.

Once there is already a vaccine in the market, everyone can shield themselves against the virus. No one needs to worry about catching it because you will technically be immune to it. Thus, men, women, and children can finally go out, regardless of their health status.

Let Kids Go To School Again

Young students have not had it easy during their last couple of months because of the pandemic. The reason is that they have had to transition to homeschooling sometime in March without being able to get used to the idea of doing it. The parents cannot blame the schools, though, since they are merely acting according to the current situation. It is better for the kids to study at home than mingle with each other while there isn’t a vaccination against the coronavirus.

Nevertheless, I can already imagine how much the children will celebrate when a vaccine becomes available. They may have enjoyed staying at home for some time, but they are undoubtedly bored as well since they are forbidden to go anywhere else. With a vaccine ready, these kids can go to school and play with their friends again.

Prevent Workers From Losing Jobs

Another major problem in every part of the world is the rising unemployment rate. Like the schools, the companies may have no choice but to let go of their employees, considering they have been unable to operate during the lockdown. In truth, only the medical and food industries continued to thrive at this time, while the rest had to close their stores and offices. Therefore, within two months or so, their expenses became higher than their sales, so they couldn’t retain all the workers.

However, when there is an existing vaccine, those failing companies can function fully again. They will never as many hands on deck as possible; that’s why they cannot sack the employees. Besides, they won’t have to do that when the money starts to flow into the business.

Final Thoughts

As mentioned above, a vaccine against the coronavirus was still not invented at the time of this writing. Every country has the best researchers working on it right now, but it still needs to subject the potential drugs to clinical trials before mass producing it.

While we are all waiting for a vaccine, we should not make it effortless for the virus to enter our immune system. Take your vitamins, wear a mask, wash your hands, and avoid going out for non-essential reasons.

Stay safe!

You’re A Successful Business Leader If You Have These Qualities

The Tech Expo 2019 was an enormous event attended by eager business amateurs as well as modern-day business leaders who made a name for themselves through new technologies and innovative materials. The speakers shared their personal experiences and techniques on helping novice entrepreneurs solve different business challenges that they meet every day. Exhibitors from different states also graced the event with their latest tech inventions. Attendees got to learn what’s new, what was coming, and how they can apply what they have learned in real-life situations. Indeed, the business leaders were the inspiration to all those who were looking forward to finding ways to like them. So how to be like them?

Qualities Of A Successful Business Leader

Self-Awareness. One of the most vital qualities of an effective business leader, self-awareness is one’s capacity to understand and accept his strengths and weaknesses. He does not hide his weaknesses but rather addresses them so that he can find a sensible solution. If he does suppress his weakness, he becomes vulnerable eventually and his business suffers in the end.

Fairness. A successful business leader treats others fairly regardless of the situation. It is a must-have quality if you want to succeed and be effective. If you don’t handle your colleagues and employees equally, you are in for a disaster. Along with this, you must have principles and best practices in place that will enable you to attain your goals for your company as much as for yourself.

Willpower. An effective business leader has the willpower to make sound decisions in a timely manner, no matter how difficult. Often, a lot of leaders forget that a decision has to be made or it will paralyze his business and everything in it. They tend to delay their decision and this almost always causes a bigger problem. If you are a seasoned and successful leader, you have learned the hard way, and you know that you need to take action confidently and quickly.

Knowledge. Obviously, this is last but not least. A business leader without knowledge is literally worthless. He needs to be a good listener as much as an effective facilitator. He has to be knowledgeable to be respected by his employees who are looking to learn from him. A successful business leader is updated with the current trends, important facts, and best practices in business.

How Technology Saves Lives During Quarantine

Technology has been a part of the norm for as long as I can remember. You are considered a cool kid in the 90s if you came to school with a phone. The gadgets back then were not as fancy as the smartphones that we have these days, but having one was uncommon at the time. And the more you change your device, the more people want to be friends around you.

Even I adopted such technological advancements over the years, though I was never a fan of any of them. I have a laptop, two iPhones, and an iPad because they are required in my fast-paced work environment. But if it were up to me, I would be going old school with a pen and paper.

I only saw the significance of using technology when the quarantine came because:

It Allowed Me To Stay In Touch With My Loved Ones

Despite not needing to go to work ever since my company followed the stay-at-home order, I could not go home to see my parents. They lived in Hawaii, you see, and no one was allowed to enter the island at the time. The other option was for Mom and Dad to fly to New York, but I could not bear to make them do that. Both of my parents were over the age of 60 and at high risk of contracting the coronavirus.

What kept all of us sane was the fact that we could Facetime every single day with each other. My parents would wake me up in the middle of the morning, and then we would talk chat making and eating breakfast. Sometimes, the call would last until mid-afternoon, just when Mom and Dad were about to take a nap.
My parents and I had not been this close before, but I am all for this change.

It Helped Me Get Groceries Without Leaving The Couch

When I heard about the quarantine, I initially worried about how I could get my groceries. I knew that supermarkets were open, but I was a little scared to go out. After some online research, though, I found out some of them were offering to deliver the customers’ groceries to their house. That’s what I had been doing in the last few weeks.

Without technology, I would have had to go out there and increase my chances of getting the coronavirus. Thankfully, I didn’t have to come out and greet the delivery people at the door because the groceries were already paid for when I checked them out online. I only needed to wait for 24 hours before picking up the grocery bags to ensure that no viruses were sticking to them.

It Eases Boredom

I used to say that I could live alone on an island for a year with just a few books and nothing else to entertain me. However, after several weeks of being holed up in my apartment in the city, I felt bored. I tried to fool myself in the next days, but I ended up turning on my TV and watching some movies on Netflix.

Without technology, I might have chosen to break the quarantine rules to kill my boredom. Reading was not enough to make me happy; supplementing it with doing movie marathons did.

Final Thoughts

No one should ever be too proud to admit that technology is an essential part of our lives. Perhaps our ancestors have been able to live without it, but that’s because no one has invented it back in the day. However, we have grown up with technology, so we cannot shake it off our system anytime soon.

Whether we like it or not, technology can save us in more ways than one during the quarantine.

Technologies From Space Exploration That We Use Every Day

When people think about advanced technology, many of them think about space exploration. The space age was one of the best examples of how technical expertise can lead to amazing feats. However, humanity gained more from the space program than just getting to visit the moon. Many everyday items, some of which we take for granted, exist only because of space research.

Many people believe that space exploration is a waste of taxpayers’ money. Who cares about visiting planet when we already have so many problems here on Earth? Nevertheless, space technology is a vital component of any research and development program. Research in this field leads to the creation of several useful products, many of which make our lives more comfortable.

Solar Panels

Photovoltaic cells, also known as solar panels, are now considered a significant player in the renewable energy transition of several countries. These devices convert sunlight directly into electricity, providing many households with a cheap and clean energy source.

Solar panel technology already existed before the start of space exploration, but models back then were inefficient. Rockets need to minimize their weight since it takes a lot of energy to escape the Earth’s atmosphere. Hence, researchers focused on reducing the burden of solar panels while making them more efficient.

Without space research, solar panels today would be a lot clunkier, making them harder to transport and install. Thanks to NASA’s analysis, solar technology was able to become a leader in renewable energy.

Memory Foam

Astronauts back then had a problem. Accelerating a rocket so that it can lift off into space requires extreme amounts of force. Astronauts can experience forces that are more than ten times their weight. These intense G-forces can easily injure them outright or prevent them from operating the ships during takeoff.

One potential solution is to create customized seats that evenly distribute the pressure throughout an astronaut’s entire body. The only problem with them is that they need to be updated frequently as astronauts’ bodies change in proportions during training.

Engineers came up with a remedy: a substance that can conform to anyone’s body then return to its original shape even after repeated use. After several trials, NASA was able to develop the first version of the memory foam. Decades later, NASA released memory foam into the public domain during the 1980s.

Today, many items of clothing and apparel depend on memory foam to ensure that users are well-cushioned and protected.

Food Management

Regular food is unsuitable for astronauts. Because of their moisture content, food items tend to add significantly to cargo weight, requiring more rocket fuel for a successful launch. Typical food also tends to spoil quickly, which makes it challenging to provide well-balanced meals during missions that can take weeks to finish.

NASA experimented with freeze-drying, which allows sensitive items to lose moisture without being destroyed. During the mid-20th century, freeze-drying was already being used to help preserve blood components. Researchers were able to apply the same technology to food. The result is spoilage-resistant food that weighs 20% of its original weight and retains almost all of its nutrients.

There are other examples of useful technologies from the space age, such as scratch-resistant coatings and camera units small enough to fit in a smartphone. Hence, we need to keep supporting research projects. Research into space exploration and similar frontiers lead to benefits that trickle down to everyday citizens.

The New Way Of Hackers To Break Into Your iPhone And How You Can Prevent It

People who conduct fraudulent activities such as hacking do not choose an exact timing or season. No particular technology can even escape their agenda. Latest reports reveal hackers have found a new way to break into iPhones, which are widely known as the most secure mobile device out there.

Latest news suggests hackers can now steal your iPhone data just by sending you a text message. Google Project Zero researcher Natalie Silvanovich found an interaction-less bug that could allow a hacker to extract data from iOS iMessage easily.

iPhones are more challenging to hack than other mobile phones. It is also a common knowledge that Apple has set high standards for user privacy and data security on each of their products. However, hackers can still target any sophisticated device they want. Apple has no control over where user information travels once an application you visit or install collects it.

Hackers could tailor a text message to an iPhone user, and the iMessage server would send back critical user data such as messages or images. It could happen without even opening the app. iMessage is vulnerable to such attack because of all the extensions and interconnections it offers.

Protecting Your iPhone From Interaction-Less Attacks

Keeping your operating system (OS) and applications updated is the best way to prevent hackers from breaking into your iPhone. Apple urges its users to update their iPhones to the latest version, which is iOS 12.4. In line with this, we provide you with a helpful guide in updating your iOS:

  • Plug your iPhone into a power socket and connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  • Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
  • Tap “Download and Install.”
  • Tap “Install” for an immediate update or choose “Later” then “Install Tonight” to update while your phone is charging overnight.
  • Enter your passcode if needed.

You can also update your iPhone manually using a wired connection:

  • Install the latest version of iTunes on your computer.
  • Connect your device to your computer via the supplied USB cable.
  • Open iTunes and select your device.
  • Click Summary > Check for Update.
  • Choose “Download and Update.”
  • Enter your passcode if needed.

Protecting Your iPhone From Hackers In General

Every day, hackers find creative ways to exploit sensitive data for their benefit. Therefore, we provide you with security tips to keep your iPhone secure. This guide should also address concerns about your private information, website logins, emails, text messages, and confidential files such as photos and videos.

  • Keep iOS updated.
  • Activate “Find My iPhone.” It is where you can log in from another iOS device if you lose your iPhone. You can remotely wipe your data from the lost iPhone so that hackers will find nothing.
  • Create a longer password. Law enforcement agencies use the hacking tool GrayKey to crack a four-digit passcode in a couple of hours, even a six-digit code in a few days. Although Apple has effectively disabled this tool from its products, it is always better to be safe than sorry.
  • Enable the Auto-wipe feature. Here, the iPhone will automatically erase all data after ten incorrect password guesses. It should keep you from worrying too much.
  • Avoid opening suspicious links.
  • Revoke third-party app permissions.
  • Turn off Siri.
  • Disable auto-fill. This feature in Safari provides hackers with access to all your online logins. It is highly recommended to disable “AutoFill” through Settings.

Hackers can take everything away from you with a few clicks. So, be proactive and take steps to protect your iPhone from them.

Top Technological Innovations For Cyber Safety

There is an ongoing war between data thieves and data defenders. As soon as a group counters an attack, the other group creates another move for malicious behavior. The increase in automation and digital connectivity allowed hackers and businesses in the value chain to be agile and flexible in the field of cyber security. Listed below are some of the top technological innovations for safety if your company is continually trying to fend off these attacks.

Hardware Authentication

Believe it or not, most hackers find it easy to retrieve usernames and passwords of website users. They can even compromise critical and sensitive data of government agencies and companies. Because of this, security experts are feeling higher pressure to come up with authentication programs and methods that can better withstand these attacks. The latest technology which addresses this issue is the emergence of the user hardware authentication.

Tech gurus have started using a new Core vPro processor under the sixth generation of processors. It combines hardware components which have several layers of identity validation. This system requires three things from the users: who they are (username), what they know (password), and what they have (token). This feature also ensures that all the devices connected to the network have the connectivity rights given by the owners.

User Behavior Analytics

Once a hacker engages in malicious behavior, the system will trigger a red flag to the security team if they have user behavior analytics (UBA). This technology employs big data analytics to keep track of their unusual behavior. In other words, it differentiates an activity of a hacker who broke the security from a legitimate user.

The UBA also has a feature called peer analysis. It has a program which compares a person’s user behavior to another person in the same department and has the same manager. If their online routine differs from their peers, they’ll be able to identify this person as a threat to their security.

Imaginary Zoos

Whenever a hacker breaches a computer network, the first step is almost a given—they collect data from the system. Hence, to keep the attackers busy, most security experts confuse them by creating new network devices or booby-trapped files. If they have this added layer, the suspects will spend most of their time hacking these fake servers and systems, hence giving the professionals more time to counter this attack.

The Cloud

The cloud does not only improve the performance and productivity of the employees, but it also contributes to better security technology. More and more companies are now tailoring their information systems safety depending on the vast amount of data which they generate every day. For example, companies are now using prevention systems, virtual intrusion detection, and virtual firewalls.

To be specific, some public and private entities have doubled or tripled the security in their data centers through the use of laaS services like Amazon and Firehost.

Attacks from all sides of the business can come anytime. Hence, the whole security team must keep up with the latest trends and technological innovations not only to keep up with the competition but also to stay safe.

The Benefits Of Using Technology For Psychological Therapy

Years of researching prove that therapy for the mind is not merely a healing method from the fantasy world. It is a real treatment that works for many patients and saves their lives. It is not as invasive as prescription medicine too, which is a relevant thought for people who don’t wish to depend on drugs forever.

What’s new with psychological therapy is the incorporation of technology in practice. Online counseling or virtual psychotherapy, therefore, is now a service that people from various walks of life can avail. It brings mentally troubled individuals close to the help they need. It does not cost as much as traditional counseling as well. “Good psychotherapy is an amazing tool because a skilled therapist can help you discover and learn things that will help you lead a happier, healthier life.” Dr. Chantal Gagnon PhD LMHC explained.

Despite that, some folks are still not fans of the innovation since they think that 1) it is a scam, and 2) it will mean relying on the computer too much. Before making conclusions of your own, check out the benefits of using technology for psychological therapy.

Quick Access To Mental Health Assistance

The initial problem of people who have disabilities other than the mental issue or whose homes are far away from the city is their distance to a treatment facility. Some may make an effort to travel to the clinic a few times, for sure. But needing to do that almost every week or month may exhaust them financially, physically, and mentally.

Registering to a virtual counseling platform, nevertheless, may remedy the situation. You won’t have to speak with the counselorface-to-face, assuming the case isn’t severe. You’re also free to keep on receiving therapy while you’re on leave if there’s an internet connection available.

Better Communication Line Between Patient And Therapist

Sharing darkest emotions and deepest secrets to a stranger, even though he or she is a mental health professional, cannot be stress-free at first. It is already difficult to do with your dearest family, so you may get tongue-tied even more once you’re in front of a therapist. But note that “A good therapist should be open and willing to understand your concerns. If your counselor doesn’t take your concerns seriously or is unwilling to accept feedback, then it’s probably in your best interest to consult with another therapist about it.” Noah Rubinstein, LMFT, LMHC said.

However, things may be different when the patient and the counselor are communicating online. The fact that you signed up for virtual therapy on your ownaccord entails that you are ready to obtain treatment. You will do all the talking too before the therapist can respond. Hence, the conversations will flow naturally.

Immediate Response To Distress Calls

Electronic counseling is especially useful for folks with a mental health condition who are in danger of committing suicide. The service runs 24/7, and counselors are accessible through texts, calls or e-mails. That’s why troubled individuals can contact a therapist for advice whenever necessary. Marni Rosen, Psy.D. once said,  “Each therapist brings a unique perspective supported and integrated into the trauma treatment of our clients, from yoga and body work to early intervention, school-based intervention, and social action.”

Helpful For All Ages

Treatment with the help of technology is not all about online therapy, of course. That mostly works for adults who can read, write, and understand the language. Children with mental disorders, on the other hand, benefit from interactive or gaming stuff that developers created just for them.

Using technology for psychological therapy is not a botched idea, considering the benefits shown above. There may be cons here and there, without a doubt, but the pros outnumber them. Always.

Give online counseling a chance to prove its worth to you if ever you require mental help. Good luck!
